I thought they might care; I thought they might listen.

But there was silence.

It’s the silence that harms; It’s the silence that abuses.

In April 2020 I shared concerns about undertreatment of severe COVID-19. [1]

I thought they might be interested.

But there was silence.

It’s the silence that injures. It’s the silence that’s deadly.

During the Fall of 2020 I shared concerns about the misuse of the COVID PCR test and the importance of the Ct value at which such tests were positive. [2]

I thought they might appreciate the information.

But there was silence.

It’s the silence that misleads; it’s the silence that confuses.

In January of 2021 I shared concerns about the low scientific quality of COVID-related data. [3, 4]

I thought they might respond.

But there was silence.

It’s the silence that denies; It’s the silence that fools.

During the spring of 2021 I started sharing concerns about the safety, efficacy, necessity, and wisdom of the mRNA vaccines. [5, 6]

I thought they might be concerned.

But there was silence.

It’s the silence that dismisses; It’s the silence that suppresses.

In September 2021 I shared a recommendation that an Independent, International COVID Commission be convened to thoroughly evaluate the COVID pandemic. [7]

I thought they might engage.

But there was silence.

It’s the silence that frustrates; It’s the silence that tests one’s patience.

In March of 2022 I started sharing a series of Open Letters to Pediatricians regarding the harmful effects of the mass vaccination campaign at both the individual level and the population level—particularly the harm to innocent young children. [8-12]

I thought they might reach out.

But there was silence.

It’s the silence that disappoints; It’s the silence that damages.

In April 2022 I shared concerns that the COVID mass vaccination campaign was resulting in a prolonged series of new dominant SARS-CoV-2 variants, each becoming more infectious than predecessors. [13]

I thought they might open their minds.

But there was silence.

It’s the silence that censors; It’s the silence that bullies.

In August 2022 I shared concerns about the adverse effects of the COVID vaccines on the immune system, particularly in children, and I shared a Call for a Halt to the COVID mass vaccination campaign—particularly the campaign to vaccinate children against COVID. [14]

I thought they might want to protect the children.

But there was silence.

It’s the silence that endangers; It’s the silence that is reckless.

In November 2022, to physicians who were “dutifully” vaccinating people against COVID-19—including infants, children, and pregnant women—I sent compelling autopsy evidence of COVID vaccine-related necrotizing encephalitis, vasculitis, and myocarditis, with documentation of spike protein in the walls of the endothelial lining of the blood vessels and spike protein within the heart and brain tissues. [15]

I thought they might be alarmed.

But there was silence.

It’s the silence that is igNORant; It’s the silence that is IGnorant.

In December 2022 I shared concerns that the COVID mass vaccination campaign might result in the emergence of a more virulent variant that could cause a catastrophic number of hospitalizations and deaths. [16-18]

I thought they might appreciate the warning.

But there was silence.

It’s the silence that stifles; It’s the silence that dishonors science.

Throughout the pandemic, for nearly three years now, I have called for healthy, respectful, scientific dialogue to listen and react to all opinions, all hypotheses, and all data. [19]

I thought they might care; I thought they might listen.

But there has been only silence, or worse.

It’s the silence that kills; It’s the silence that abuses.

But I must believe that search for truth will prevail over simplistic statements that obscure.

That properly practiced science, medicine, and ethics will prevail over malpractice and malfeasance. [20]

That human capacities for goodness will prevail over human capacities for unkindness [21-23]

That disciplined patience and dogged determination will prevail over intolerance and intimidation.

That patient and public education will prevail over authoritarianism and indoctrination.

That the “mean arrangements of man” can be replaced by “vast fields of public activity” and arrangements for new “Social Beauty.” [24-26]*

The vast majority of people do care.

The vast majority of people will increasingly listen.

Soon the silence will be broken and deep questioning will come forth, like a fresh karst spring that tumbles exuberantly down the mountain side.

And abusive silence will be replaced by an outpouring of respectful conversation and uplifting acts of human goodness.

*The phrases “mean arrangements of man,” “vast fields of public activity,” and “Social Beauty” are borrowed from Victor Hugo’s novel Les Misérables. Victor Hugo’s portrait appears at the beginning of this essay; the title page of his novel appears at the end.
